Beautiful storyA touching story of dedication and true love。 And how the secrets we keep hidden today will effect others in the future。Even through the story spans several years , you are carried right along with the characters。This is a book that will stay with me for a long time。 It is definitely one of those books that you hate to see it end。

I wasn't expecting to fall in loveI wasn't expecting to fall in love with the characters and storyline of this book, but I did。The characters develop in such a way that you feel you know them。 The way the vineyards are described its as if you're standing g among the grapes and olives and sunsets。 I wasn't expecting to fall in loveI wasn't expecting to fall in love with the characters and storyline of this book, but I did。The characters develop in such a way that you feel you know them。 The way the vineyards are described its as if you're standing g among the grapes and olives and sunsets。 。。。more

Fiona to learn why her mom, Lillian, would have cheated on her dad 30 years ago and Connor and Sloane who hope to use the letters to contest the will。Tangled vines lead to poor growth so these family vines must be untangled for new beginnings。My ThoughtsThe story is told beautifully using the voices of Fiona and Sloane in the present as well as Lillian’s voice of the past。 All the voices intertwine to tell an intricate story of regret, love, and forgiveness。I love the description of the Maurizio Vineyard, grounds and Villa。 I think the details of the meals that were eaten and the wines that were enjoyed created an amazing atmosphere and authenticity。 The secondary characters of the staff at the Villa were so well done and were a wonderful addition in telling the story! This book is like tasting a great wine。。Complex notes blended perfectly to create a captivating experience。 。。。more

Beautifully written! I was truly sad when I finished this exquisite novel, as I didn’t want it to end。 Julianne MacLean has given us readers such an incredibly, beautiful love story set in glorious Italy。 Everything about this story was breathtaking, even bringing me to tears several times (which, for me, is hard to do)。 A five star bravo *****!

It’s easy to picture yourself in Tuscany surrounded by vineyards and a gorgeous landscape, sipping on wine, eating delicious food at a table with good friends while reading this enjoyable novel。 Fiona Bell was told a secret on her mother’s deathbed。 She promised her mother that she would never tell her father that she now knew he wasn’t her biological father。 Her father (Freddie), a quadriplegic who Fiona adores would be devastated if he knew the truth。 When Anton, the man Fiona now knows to be It’s easy to picture yourself in Tuscany surrounded by vineyards and a gorgeous landscape, sipping on wine, eating delicious food at a table with good friends while reading this enjoyable novel。 Fiona Bell was told a secret on her mother’s deathbed。 She promised her mother that she would never tell her father that she now knew he wasn’t her biological father。 Her father (Freddie), a quadriplegic who Fiona adores would be devastated if he knew the truth。 When Anton, the man Fiona now knows to be her biological father dies, he includes Fiona in his will even though she’s never met him or had any sort of contact with him。 She is asked to come to Tuscany for the reading of the will。 She meets her two half siblings that she never knew of and you can imagine that they aren’t thrilled to learn of her existence particularly that she’s been so generously included in the will。 This is a dual timeline novel and we weave back and forth between Lillian (Fiona’s mother) and Anton’s time together in 1986 and to 2017 when Fiona is in Italy。 Fiona learns through friends of Anton’s and employees what really happened between Lillian, Anton and Freddie that fateful summer of their affair and Martin’s accident。 This is a story of romance, sacrifice, secrets and forgiveness。 It’s a story that keeps you intrigued right until the last page。 The descriptions of the winery and the Tuscan hills are very vivid and you can imagine the scenery easily。 Thank you NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for granting me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

A Book to get lost in。。Yes, yes yes, much of the premise of the book was rather unbelievable but I am a sucker for a story set in Italy and this one drew me in immediately。 I looked forward to diving deeper into the plot with each new chapter。 I enjoyed the characters and the ending was satisfying。 Recommend。

Lovely story that was uncomfortable at timesA story that dives deep into family and the flaws each of us has and how that can shape lives。 At times, I hated certain characters or situations but it was worth it to see eventually where everything headed。

Good plot and easy to follow storylineHooked me in within first chapter。 Different plot than girl meets boy and they live happily ever after。 I gave 4 stars because I would have rearranged the chapters a bit that referred to the "past"。 Good plot and easy to follow storylineHooked me in within first chapter。 Different plot than girl meets boy and they live happily ever after。 I gave 4 stars because I would have rearranged the chapters a bit that referred to the "past"。 。。。more

This was an Amazon first reads pick for the month of June, and I really enjoyed it。 Julianne MacLean was a new author for me, and I found her portrayal of the characters to be refreshing。 Her writing contained an element of optimism that is often hard to find in current literature。 The love story was endearing, and the outcome was positive overall for Fiona, the main character。 I will seek out other selections by this author。
